Our South African Adventure
South Africa was truly the adventure of a lifetime—breathtaking views, magical animals, and memories we'll cherish forever. We wanted to share a few highlights from our trip so you can follow along through some of our favorite photos. From sipping wine in the vineyards to watching penguins waddle by the ocean, every moment felt like a dream.

Wine Tour – Franschhoek
Took the cutest little Wine Tram through the vineyards and toured some of the oldest estates. So many charcuterie boards… so little time.

Penguins – Boulder’s Beach
Yes, South Africa has penguins! They waddle around like little beach locals. By visiting, you’re actually helping conservation efforts that protect them. (Fun fact: over 60,000 people visit every year to see these cuties!)

Cape Point & Cape of Good Hope
Cliffs, lighthouses, ocean views that stretch forever… it felt like standing at the edge of the world.

Safari Moments
Saw zebras & giraffes up close (pinch-me moment).
A baby rhino got the zoomies and it was the cutest chaos ever.
Fun Fact: Male elephants get “kicked out” of the herd around age 12 to start their own journey.

Cheetahs
They were so majestic… and then promptly fell asleep while we took photos with them. Relatable.

Elephants
This was one of the absolute highlights of the trip! At the sanctuary, we got to feed the elephants and even touch their enormous tongues (yes, just as crazy as it sounds!). Each elephant has a mahout — a dedicated caretaker who spends hours walking with them and tending to their every need. Watching the bond between them up close was so special.
Fun Fact: Female elephants leave just two sets of tracks, since their back feet step neatly into the prints of their front feet. Males, on the other hand, leave four sets of tracks.

Lions
The lions were everything we imagined and more. Most of the time, they were sprawled out taking cat naps (literally). But we also got to watch the females on the move — powerful, graceful, and absolutely mesmerizing as they hunted.

St. Lucia
We made it all the way to St. Lucia, where we couldn’t resist jumping into the Indian Ocean! The waves were massive and wild — equal parts thrilling and a little humbling. Definitely one of those “pinch-me” moments we'll never forget.

Until next time...
